TT353: Wonder Without Invention

The ceiling of TT353 organizes a learned funerary sky: northern constellations, lunar months, decanal stars, Orion, Sirius and the five planets known to the Egyptians.

That is already extraordinary.

It shows access to learned religious and astronomical material and the authority to place it in a private funerary chamber. It connects celestial order, timekeeping, ritual and the dead.

What It Does Not Need to Be

It does not need to be modern astrology. It does not need to encode neuroscience. It does not need to predict a contemporary spiritual system.

The image is powerful enough without forcing it to testify on subjects it never names.
